This policy explains what data the KoalaMirror app and KM Launcher collect, and how it is used. By using our apps you agree to this policy.

KM Launcher is minimal. It has no analytics, no sign-in, and no ads. Your grid layout and settings are stored only on your device and are excluded from system backups. It connects to the network only when you act: submitting feedback or agreeing to send a crash report, and — in the version distributed directly as an APK (outside Google Play) — when you tap “Check for updates.” The analytics and account/licensing sections below apply to the KoalaMirror app only.

Data we collect

  • Product diagnostics (pseudonymous). The KoalaMirror app reports technical events — app opened, deploy and projection milestones, app/component versions, and setup state (Android version, root type, Android Auto version, GMS presence, launcher) — keyed to a pseudonymous installation ID derived from a key the app generates on first launch. This ID is not your name, your email, or a hardware serial number; it resets if you clear the app’s data or reinstall. Before you sign in, events carry only this installation ID. After you sign in, the installation record is linked to your internal account number so we can troubleshoot your specific setup. The app stores no diagnostics on your device — events are buffered in memory and uploaded right away — and diagnostics never include your screen contents, files, contacts, messages, or precise location. Full logs are sent only when you choose to submit them with feedback or a crash report. We additionally use Google Analytics for Firebase for aggregate usage trends, with ad personalization disabled.
  • Account (for licensing). When you sign in with Google to activate projection, we receive your Google account identifier and email, used to issue and verify your license. With each activation we also record a basic device profile — app version, Android version, device model and manufacturer, and ROM/OS build — to diagnose compatibility on the hardware and system builds our users run. We do not read your contacts, files, photos, or other data.
  • Crash & feedback reports. If you choose to send a crash report or feedback, we receive a diagnostic header (device/version info) and your message. An email is required in the KoalaMirror app and optional in KM Launcher, so we can follow up.
  • Website analytics. Our website (koalamirror.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and see which pages are useful — standard analytics cookies, page views, and coarse device/location data. We do not use it for advertising.

How we use it

  • Diagnostics — to troubleshoot setups, improve compatibility, prioritize fixes, and guide product decisions.
  • Account — to issue and verify your projection license (trial, subscription, lifetime).
  • Crash/feedback — to diagnose issues you report.

Third parties

  • Google Sign-In, Firebase Analytics, and Google Analytics 4 for the website (Google LLC).
  • Creem (our merchant of record) processes subscription and one-time payments under its own policy; we never see or store your card details.
  • GitHub (Microsoft) — crash and feedback reports you submit are filed as issues in our private repositories so we can track and fix them.

Retention & deletion

Raw diagnostic events are kept for 90 days. The record linking an installation to an account is kept until that installation or account is deleted. Long-term usage statistics are stored only as daily aggregates that contain no per-installation identifiers. License and account data are retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us. We do not sell your data.

Children

Our apps are not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
